Greek Meatball Bowl

A delightful bowl filled with seasoned meatballs, rice or quinoa, fresh veggies, creamy tzatziki sauce, and crumbled feta, capturing the vibrant flavors of Greece.

  • 1 lb ground beef or lamb
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup feta cheese, crumbled
  • 1/4 cup parsley, chopped
  • 1 egg
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp oregano
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Olive oil for frying
  • Cooked rice or quinoa
  • Sliced cucumbers
  • Chopped tomatoes
  • Tzatziki sauce

Instructions

  1. Gather all your ingredients. Chop the parsley, mince the garlic, and crumble the feta.
  2. Combine the ground beef or lamb, breadcrumbs, crumbled feta, chopped parsley, minced garlic, egg, oregano, salt, and pepper in a large bowl. Mix well.
  3. Shape your meatballs into golf ball-sized portions.
  4. Heat about 2 tablespoons of olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  5. Place the meatballs in the skillet and cook undisturbed for about 4-5 minutes until golden brown, then turn over and brown the other side for an additional 4-5 minutes.
  6. Check for doneness by cutting one in half; ensure it’s no longer pink inside.
  7. Prepare your rice or quinoa according to package directions.
  8. Assemble your bowl with a scoop of rice or quinoa, meatballs, fresh cucumbers, tomatoes, and tzatziki sauce on top.
  9. Drizzle olive oil if desired and garnish before serving.
