The Ultimate Garlic Butter Ribeye

A juicy ribeye steak infused with rich garlic butter and fresh herbs for a delicious and easy meal.

Ingredients

  • Ribeye Steaks (2 steaks, 1 to 1.5 inch thickness preferred)
  • Olive Oil (2 tablespoons)
  • Coarse Sea Salt (1 teaspoon)
  • Freshly Ground Black Pepper (1 teaspoon)
  • Unsalted Butter (4 tablespoons)
  • Fresh Garlic (4 cloves, minced)
  • Fresh Rosemary (1 tablespoon, chopped)
  • Fresh Thyme (1 tablespoon, chopped)
  • Red Pepper Flakes (1 pinch, optional)

Instructions

  1. Start by gathering all your ingredients. Take the ribeye steaks out of the refrigerator and let them come to room temperature for about 30 minutes.
  2. Once your steaks have reached room temperature, pat them dry with a paper towel. Drizzle both sides with olive oil, then season each side with coarse sea salt and freshly ground black pepper.
  3. Carefully place the ribeyes in the hot skillet and let them cook undisturbed for about 4-5 minutes.
  4. Once the first side has a crust, flip the steaks and cook for another 3-4 minutes on the other side.
  5. Now lower the heat to medium and add the butter, garlic, rosemary, and thyme to the pan.
  6. Once the steaks are cooked to your desired doneness, remove them from the skillet and let them rest for 5-10 minutes.
  7. To serve, slice the ribeye against the grain and drizzle any remaining garlic butter over the top.

Notes

For a different flavor profile, try swapping out the herbs or adding some citrus zest to the garlic butter.
