Tangy Pickled Pepper and Onion Relish

A zingy, flavorful condiment that adds brightness to sandwiches, burgers, and grilled meats.

  • 1 cup onions, diced
  • 1 cup apple cider vinegar
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon black peppercorns
  • 1 teaspoon mustard seeds
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

Instructions

  1. Prepare Your Ingredients: Wash and dice the bell peppers and onions.
  2. Combine the Liquid Ingredients: Mix apple cider vinegar, sugar, salt, and garlic powder in a saucepan and simmer until dissolved.
  3. Add the Vegetables: Introduce the diced bell peppers and onions, cooking for 2-3 minutes.
  4. Add the Seeds: Stir in black peppercorns and mustard seeds.
  5. Pack in Jars: Spoon the relish into sterilized jars, ensuring veggies are submerged.
  6. Seal and Store: Seal the jars, cool to room temperature, and refrigerate for at least 24 hours.

Notes

This relish can last up to a month in the fridge. Use fresh ingredients for the best flavor.
