Nectarine Crumb Tart

A delightful dessert featuring juicy nectarines topped with a sweet crumb mixture, perfect for summer gatherings.

  • 6 ripe nectarines, pitted and sliced
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Vanilla ice cream for serving

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Grease a 9-inch tart pan with softened butter or non-stick spray.
  3. Combine 1 cup of all-purpose flour, 1/2 cup of brown sugar, and 1/4 cup of granulated sugar in a mixing bowl.
  4. Add the softened butter and mix until crumbly.
  5. Press about 2/3 of the crumb mixture into the bottom of the tart pan.
  6. Place the sliced nectarines neatly over the crust.
  7. Sprinkle the remaining crumb mixture over the nectarines.
  8. Brush the beaten egg over the crumb topping.
  9. Bake for 35-40 minutes, until golden brown and bubbling.
  10. Cool for at least 15 minutes before serving.

Notes

For a gluten-free version, substitute the flour with almond or oat flour. You can also use a flax egg for an egg-free option.
