Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 boneless ribeye steaks (1 inches thick)
  • 1 tablespoon chili powder
  • 2 teaspoons brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter (softened)
  • 1 tablespoon bourbon
  • 1 teaspoon pure maple syrup
  • 1 teaspoon reserved chili rub
  • 12 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon fresh parsley (finely chopped)

Instructions

  1. Make the Chili Rub: In a small bowl, combine chili powder, brown sugar, garlic powder, kosher salt, and black pepper.
  2. Prepare the Steaks: Pat the ribeye steaks dry and rub with olive oil and chili rub. Let sit for 20 minutes.
  3. Sear the Steaks: Heat a heavy skillet over medium-high heat and add olive oil. Sear steaks for 4-5 minutes without moving.
  4. Flip and Finish Cooking: Flip the steaks and immediately add butter and bourbon. Cook for another 4-5 minutes.
  5. Add the Maple Touch: Just before removing from heat, drizzle maple syrup and sprinkle reserved chili rub.
  6. Rest Your Steaks: Let the steaks rest on a cutting board for 5-10 minutes before slicing.

Notes

Consider side dishes like a crisp salad or creamy mashed potatoes to compliment the steak.
