Baked Ham and Cheese Croissants

Crispy, buttery croissants filled with savory deli ham, oozy cheddar cheese, and a hint of tangy mustard for a delightful treat.

  • 8 mini croissants
  • 4 slices smoked cheddar cheese (or regular cheddar, halved)
  • ¾ pound deli-cut ham
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter (softened)
  • 2 tablespoons yellow mustard
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • ½ to 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 large egg white
  • Poppy seeds (for sprinkling)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Prepare each mini croissant by slicing it in half horizontally.
  3. Combine the softened butter, yellow mustard, honey, and Worcestershire sauce in a small bowl.
  4. Spread the butter mixture on the bottom half of each croissant.
  5. Layer a half slice of smoked cheddar, followed by a layer of deli ham, and top it with another half slice of cheese.
  6. Close the croissant and brush the top with the beaten egg white.
  7. Sprinkle poppy seeds on top and bake for 15-20 minutes until golden brown.
  8. Cool for a couple of minutes before serving warm.

Notes

For variations, try roasted red peppers and feta for a Mediterranean twist or crispy bacon with pepper jack cheese for a Southern flavor.
