Spicy and Zesty Chili Lime Chicken

A flavorful dish that marries the bright zing of lime with warm chili spices, perfect for casual dinners or backyard barbecues.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 chicken breasts
  • Juice of 2 limes
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh cilantro for garnish

Instructions

  1. Prepare the marinade: In a bowl, mix the juice of two limes, olive oil, chili powder, garlic powder, salt, and pepper until smooth.
  2. Marinate the chicken: Place chicken in a Ziploc bag or dish, pour the marinade, and ensure each piece is coated. Marinate for at least 15 minutes or up to 1 hour.
  3. Heat the grill or skillet over medium-high heat, adding olive oil to prevent sticking.
  4. Cook the chicken for about 6-7 minutes on each side, until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C).
  5. Rest the chicken for 5-10 minutes to redistribute juices.
  6. Slice and serve with fresh cilantro on top.

Notes

Adjust seasoning in marinade to balance tartness and spice. Marinating longer enhances flavor.
