Strawberry Pretzel Jello Salad

A delightful dessert that combines crunchy pretzel crust with creamy layers and fresh strawberries, making it perfect for gatherings.

  • 2 1/2 cups pretzels, coarsely chopped
  • 1/4 cup granulated white sugar
  • 1/2 cup butter, melted
  • 16 ounces Cool Whip or Tru Whip
  • 8 ounces cream cheese
  • 1 cup granulated white sugar
  • 6 ounces instant strawberry Jello
  • 2 cups boiling water
  • 1 quart strawberries, hulled and sliced

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Combine the pretzels, 1/4 cup of granulated sugar, and melted butter in a mixing bowl.
  3. Spread the pretzel mixture in a greased 9×13 inch baking dish. Bake for 10 minutes until golden, then let it cool.
  4. Beat the cream cheese until smooth. Gradually add in 1 cup of granulated sugar.
  5. Fold in the Cool Whip.
  6. Spread the cream cheese mixture over the cooled pretzel crust and refrigerate for 30 minutes.
  7. Dissolve the Jello in 2 cups of boiling water, stir, and let it cool to room temperature.
  8. Add the sliced strawberries to the cooled Jello and combine.
  9. Pour the Jello mixture over the cream cheese layer. Chill for at least 2 hours until set.
  10. Serve chilled, cut into squares, optionally topped with extra whipped topping.

Notes

For extra flavor, add a pinch of cinnamon or garlic powder to the pretzel crust. You can also mix in some lemon juice with the strawberries for added zest.
