Nectarine Spice Butter

A deliciously sweet and spiced butter made from ripe nectarines, perfect for summer spreads.

Ingredients

  • 9 cups ripe nectarines, chopped
  • 4 cups sugar
  • 1/4 cup lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1 tablespoon cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Prep your nectarines by washing, drying, halving, and chopping them into small pieces.
  2. Cook the nectarines with sugar and lemon juice in a pot, letting it sit for about 30 minutes.
  3. Heat the mixture over medium heat until it simmers, approximately 10-15 minutes.
  4. Blend the mixture until smooth, using an immersion blender or a regular blender.
  5. Spice it up by returning it to the pot with butter and cinnamon; simmer for an additional 10-15 minutes.
  6. Jar it up into sterilized jars while hot, allowing them to cool before sealing.

Notes

This recipe can be stored in the refrigerator for 2-3 weeks or frozen for up to 6 months.
