Blueberry Basil Lemon Lavender Mocktail

A refreshing non-alcoholic beverage that combines vibrant blueberries, fragrant basil, and floral lavender for a perfect summer drink.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pint Fresh Blueberries, muddled
  • 1 cup Fresh Basil Leaves, chopped
  • ½ cup Fresh Lemon Juice (approximately the juice of 2 lemons)
  • ¾ cup Lavender Simple Syrup
  • 1½ cups Soda Water
  • Ice Cubes
  • 1 cup Sugar (for lavender syrup)
  • 1 cup Water (for lavender syrup)
  • ½ cup Lavender Buds, food grade (for lavender syrup)

Instructions

  1. Make the Lavender Simple Syrup: In a medium saucepan, combine 1 cup sugar and 1 cup water. Bring to a light simmer over medium heat, stirring until the sugar dissolves. Once dissolved, add ½ cup of food-grade lavender buds. Reduce heat to low and let it steep for about 30 minutes. Strain the mixture through a fine-mesh sieve, discarding the solids, and allow it to cool.
  2. Muddle the Blueberries and Basil: In a large mixing glass or cocktail shaker, add the fresh blueberries. Use a muddler (or the back of a spoon) to gently crush the berries. Add in the chopped basil leaves and muddle with the blueberries.
  3. Combine Everything: Into the muddled mixture, add the fresh lemon juice and ¾ cup of your prepared lavender simple syrup. Stir well to combine all the flavors.
  4. Assemble the Mocktail: Fill tall glasses with ice cubes. Pour the muddle mix over the ice, leaving room for the soda water. Top off with 1½ cups of soda water and give it a gentle stir.
  5. Garnish and Serve: Garnish with whole blueberries, a sprig of fresh basil, and a tiny lavender sprig.

Notes

This mocktail can be made in advance by preparing the lavender syrup and muddling the blueberries and basil. Combine with soda water just before serving for optimal fizz.
