Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb Ground Beef (80/20 blend)
  • 1 Onion, diced
  • 8 oz Mushrooms, sliced
  • 2 cups Beef Broth
  • 2 tbsp Worcestershire Sauce
  • Salt and Pepper, to taste
  • 1 tsp Garlic Powder
  • 2 tbsp Flour
  • 1 tbsp Cooking Oil (canola or olive oil)

Instructions

  1. Prep your ingredients: Dice your onion and slice the mushrooms. Measure out your beef broth and gather the rest of your ingredients.
  2. Create the hamburger patties: In a large bowl, combine the ground beef with salt, pepper, and garlic powder. Form into thick patties.
  3. Sear the patties: Heat oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Sear patties for about 4-5 minutes on each side until brown.
  4. Sauté the onions and mushrooms: Add onions to the skillet, sauté for 2-3 minutes, add mushrooms, and cook for an additional 5 minutes.
  5. Make the gravy: Sprinkle flour over the onions and mushrooms, stir for 1-2 minutes. Gradually whisk in beef broth and Worcestershire sauce, let simmer for 5 minutes.
  6. Combine everything: Slide cooked patties back into the skillet, spoon sauce over them, and let them soak in the flavors on low heat for 10 minutes.
  7. Taste and adjust: Check seasoning and adjust with salt and pepper as needed.
