Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 45 medium potatoes, sliced thinly
  • 2 cups shredded cheese (cheddar or your choice)
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 1 can cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 cup milk
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Garlic powder (optional)
  • Paprika (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).

  4. Mix the browned beef, sautéed onions, cream of mushroom soup, and milk in a large bowl until well combined.
  5. Layer the casserole in a greased 9×13-inch baking dish, starting with sliced potatoes, then beef mixture, and cheese. Repeat until ingredients are used.
  6. Season the top layer with salt, pepper, and paprika, cover with foil, and bake for 45 minutes.
  7. Uncover and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
  8. Rest for 10 minutes before serving.

Notes

For added flavor, consider incorporating jalapeños for heat, or layering in vegetables like zucchini or spinach.
