Mini Apple Hand Pies

Cozy, flaky mini apple hand pies filled with warm, spiced apples wrapped in buttery crust.

Ingredients

  • 1 sheet of pastry dough (store-bought or homemade)
  • 2 large apples, peeled and diced
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 egg (for egg wash)
  • 1 tablespoon water

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Combine peeled and diced apples, sugar, cinnamon, and lemon juice in a mixing bowl.
  3. Roll out the dough on a floured surface to about 1/8 inch thick.
  4. Cut circles of dough with a round cutter, aiming for about 4-5 inches in diameter.
  5. Place a tablespoon of apple filling in the center of each dough circle.
  6. Fold the dough over to create a half-moon shape and crimp the edges.
  7. Brush each pie with egg wash (egg mixed with water).
  8. Bake for about 20-25 minutes, or until golden brown and aromatic.

Notes

Serve warm, dusted with powdered sugar or alongside vanilla ice cream.
