Soft Baked Maple Donut Bars

  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup pure maple syrup
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup melted butter
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons milk (for glaze)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease an 8×8-inch baking pan or line it with parchment paper.
  2. Mix the dry ingredients: In a medium bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon until well combined.
  3. Combine the wet ingredients: In another large bowl, whisk together your eggs, pure maple syrup, milk, and melted butter until smooth.
  4. Blend the dry mixture into the wet mixture gently with a spatula.
  5. Pour the batter into your prepared baking pan and spread it out evenly.
  6. Bake for about 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  7. Cool in the pan for about 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
  8. Prepare the glaze by mixing powdered sugar and milk until smooth.
  9. Glaze the cooled bars generously.
