Crispy Bacon-Wrapped Mozzarella Sticks

Deliciously crunchy bacon-wrapped mozzarella sticks, perfect for any gathering.

  • 12 mozzarella string cheese sticks
  • 12 slices thin-cut bacon
  • ½ cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 large eggs (beaten)
  • 1 cup seasoned breadcrumbs
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon dried parsley (optional)
  • Oil for frying

Instructions

  1. Prep your workspace by setting up three bowls: one for flour, another for beaten eggs, and a third for seasoned breadcrumbs with garlic powder.
  2. Wrap each mozzarella stick tightly in a slice of bacon, securing the ends if necessary.
  3. Coat the bacon-wrapped cheese in flour, then dip in the beaten egg, and finally roll in the breadcrumbs, pressing gently.
  4. Heat about 2 inches of oil in a deep skillet until it reaches 350°F (175°C).
  5. Fry a few mozzarella sticks at a time, about 2-3 minutes per side or until golden brown.
  6. Drain the excess oil by placing the fried mozzarella sticks on a paper towel-lined plate.

Notes

For crispy perfection, do not overcrowd the frying pan. You can also freeze leftover sticks before frying for a quick snack later.
