Ingredients
Scale
8 oz Penne Pasta
1 lb Lean Ground Beef
1 cup Heavy Cream
3 cloves Garlic, minced
1 medium Onion, diced
1 cup Grated Parmesan Cheese
2 tsp Italian Seasoning
Salt and Pepper to taste
2 tsp Olive Oil for Sautéing
Instructions
Fill a large pot with water and bring it to a boil over high heat. Add a pinch of salt. Once boiling, toss in the penne and cook according to the package directions, usually around 10-12 minutes. Reserve about 1 cup of pasta water before draining.
Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the diced onion and sauté for about 3-4 minutes until translucent and soft. Then, throw in the minced garlic and sauté for an additional minute.
Add the ground beef to the skillet, breaking it up with a spatula. Cook until browned and fully cooked through, about 6-8 minutes. Drain excess fat and season with salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning.
Reduce the heat to low and pour in the heavy cream, stirring to combine. Add in the grated Parmesan cheese and mix until melted and smooth. Adjust the sauce with reserved pasta water if it’s too thick.
Add the drained pasta into the sauce, tossing gently to coat. Allow it to simmer on low heat for 2-3 minutes.
Notes
Garnish with fresh parsley or basil. Pair with garlic bread or a green salad.
