Iced Orange Ginger Green Tea

A refreshing summer beverage combining green tea, fresh oranges, and warming ginger.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 cups water
  • 5 organic green tea bags
  • 2 tablespoons ginger, finely grated or minced
  • 34 tablespoons honey
  • 2 cups fresh orange juice
  • 1/2 cup fresh lemon juice

Instructions

  1. Boil the water: Pour 4 cups of water into a pot and bring it to a roaring boil. Once boiling, reduce the heat and let it sit for about 30 seconds.
  2. Brew the tea: Add the 5 green tea bags to the hot water. Keep it covered and let it steep for 3 to 5 minutes.
  3. Add ginger: Remove the tea bags and stir in the freshly grated ginger. Let it steep for another 5 minutes.
  4. Mix the sweetness: Sweeten your tea by adding honey. Start with 3 tablespoons and adjust to taste.
  5. Incorporate the citrus: Add the fresh orange juice and lemon juice. Stir everything together.
  6. Cool it down: Pour it into a heat-safe container and refrigerate until cold, about 1 hour, or pour it over a glass full of ice.
  7. Serve and enjoy: Fill a glass with ice, pour the tea over top, and garnish with fresh mint leaves or a citrus slice.

Notes

For variations, consider adding other citrus juices, fresh herbs, or a spicy kick with chili. Serve with light dishes for a perfect summer pairing.
