Honey Oat Bread

A comforting, fluffy bread infused with honey and oats, perfect for toasting or sandwiches.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups Bread Flour
  • 1 cup Rolled Oats
  • 1 packet (2 1/4 tsp) Active Dry Yeast
  • 1/4 cup Honey
  • 1 cup Warm Water (about 110°F)
  • 1/2 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 tablespoon Olive Oil (optional)

Instructions

  1. Activate the Yeast: In a small bowl, combine the warm water and active dry yeast. Stir gently and let it sit for about 5-10 minutes or until it becomes frothy.
  2. Mix Dry Ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, combine the bread flour, oats, and salt. Whisk to mix evenly.
  3. Combine Wet Ingredients: Once your yeast has proofed, add the honey and olive oil (if using) to the yeast mixture and stir well.
  4. Combine Mixtures: Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients, and stir until a shaggy dough forms.
  5. Knead the Dough: Transfer the dough onto a lightly floured surface and knead for about 10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  6. First Rise: Place your kneaded dough in a lightly oiled bowl and cover it. Let it rise in a warm spot for about 1 to 1.5 hours.
  7. Shape the Dough: Once risen, punch down the dough, shape it into a loaf, and place it in a greased 9×5-inch bread pan. Let it rise for another 30-45 minutes.
  8. Preheat the Oven: While the dough rises, preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  9. Bake: Bake the loaf for 30-35 minutes or until golden brown and sounds hollow when tapped.
  10. Cool and Enjoy: Remove the loaf from the pan and let it cool on a wire rack for at least 20 minutes before slicing.
