Homemade Multigrain Bread

A delightful and healthy multigrain bread recipe that merges the benefits of whole grains with a satisfying texture, perfect for sandwiches or toast.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 cups Whole Wheat Flour
  • 1 cup Bread Flour
  • 1 cup Rolled Oats
  • 1/2 cup Mixed Seeds (flaxseed, sunflower, pumpkin)
  • 2 tbsp Honey or Maple Syrup
  • 1 1/2 cups Warm Water (110°F)
  • 1 packet Active Dry Yeast
  • 1 tsp Salt

Instructions

  1. Combine the dry ingredients in a large mixing bowl: whole wheat flour, bread flour, oats, seeds, and salt.
  2. Activate the yeast by dissolving honey in warm water and sprinkling the yeast on top. Let sit for 5–10 minutes until foamy.
  3. Mix the activated yeast mixture into the dry ingredients, using a wooden spoon or hands to form a sticky dough.
  4. Knead the dough on a floured surface for 8–10 minutes until it develops a smooth texture.
  5. Let it rise in a greased bowl covered with a cloth in a warm place for about an hour until doubled.
  6. Shape the risen dough into a loaf or divide into rolls, placing in a greased baking pan.
  7. Second rise by covering the shaped dough with a cloth for 30–45 minutes until puffy.
  8. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and bake for 30–35 minutes until golden brown and hollow sounding.
  9. Cool on a wire rack before slicing.

Notes
