Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Bars

  • 1/2 cup melted butter
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup dark chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Mix the dry ingredients: in a medium bowl, whisk together your flour, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
  3. Cream together the melted butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition, then stir in the vanilla extract.
  5. Incorporate the pumpkin puree until just combined.
  6. Combine the dry and wet ingredients by gradually adding the dry mixture to the wet mixture.
  7. Fold in the chocolate chips until evenly distributed.
  8. Pour the batter into your prepared baking pan.
  9. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  10. Cool and slice the bars after letting them cool for 10-15 minutes.
