  • 2 large apples (chopped finely)
  • 2 Tbsp brown sugar (for topping)

  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract (for topping)
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon (for topping)
  • 2 Tbsp butter (for glaze)
  • 1/4 cup pure maple syrup
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1/4 tsp vanilla extract (for glaze)
  • 1/8 tsp ground cinnamon (for glaze)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a 9×13-inch baking dish with parchment paper.
  2. Mix together the flour, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon in a bowl.
  3. Cream the butter with the sugars until light and fluffy.
  4. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition, then blend in the vanilla extract.
  5. Combine the wet and dry ingredients, being careful not to overmix.
  6. Fold in the chopped apples until evenly distributed.
  7. Spread the batter into the prepared pan and mix the topping ingredients before sprinkling it over the batter.
  8. Bake for 25-30 minutes until a toothpick comes out mostly clean.
  9. Prepare the maple glaze by melting butter and stirring in maple syrup and powdered sugar.
  10. Drizzle the glaze over the cooled blondies before slicing and serving.

Notes

For added texture, consider folding in nuts or using a gluten-free flour blend for a gluten-free option.
