Witches’ Fingers Treats

Delightfully creepy, finger-shaped treats perfect for Halloween parties or family gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 egg
  • 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon almond extract
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • Whole almonds for decoration

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 325°F (160°C).
  2. Cream together the softened butter and powdered sugar until light and fluffy—about 3 minutes.
  3. Add in the egg, vanilla extract, and almond extract. Mix until well combined.
  4. Combine the flour, baking powder, and a pinch of salt in a separate bowl. Then gradually mix it into the creamed mixture.
  5. Chill the dough in plastic wrap for at least 30 minutes.
  6. Shape tablespoons of dough into finger shapes, about 3 inches long.
  7. Add blanched almonds at the tip of each finger to resemble fingernails.
  8. Bake them on a baking sheet for 20-25 minutes until lightly golden.
  9. Cool completely, then decorate with cocoa powder or red icing.

Notes

Serve on a Halloween-themed platter with gummy worms or chocolate spider decorations. You can freeze unbaked shaped cookies for later use.
