Candied Bacon Crackers

A delicious combination of crispy bacon, sweet brown sugar, and crunchy crackers, perfect as a snack or appetizer.

  • 8 strips thick-cut bacon
  • 20 buttery crackers (e.g., Ritz)
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Prepare a baking sheet by lining it with parchment paper or aluminum foil.
  3. Cook the bacon on the sheet for about 20 minutes, flipping halfway through.
  4. Mix together brown sugar, honey, and black pepper in a small bowl until a paste forms.
  5. Coat the bacon with the brown sugar mixture after 20 minutes.
  6. Place crackers on the baking sheet around the bacon.
  7. Finish baking for another 10-15 minutes until crispy.
  8. Cool the bacon and crackers for a few minutes before serving.
  9. Serve the candied bacon on top of the crackers.

Notes

Experiment with adding cayenne for spice or using maple syrup instead of honey. These can be made ahead of time; just bake fresh for serving.
