Cinnamon Apple Pull Apart Bread

A warm and comforting cinnamon apple pull apart bread that’s perfect for cozy family breakfasts and festive brunches.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup warm milk
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 packet (2 1/4 tsp) active dry yeast
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 2 medium apples, diced
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Dough: In a mixing bowl, combine warm milk and sugar. Sprinkle the yeast on top and let it sit for 5-10 minutes until foamy.
  2. Mix Dry Ingredients: In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, salt, and cinnamon.
  3. Combine Everything: Add in the melted butter and the dry ingredients to the yeast mixture. Mix until a soft dough forms.
  4. Knead the Dough: Turn the dough onto a floured surface and knead for about 5-7 minutes.
  5. Let it Rise: Transfer the kneaded dough to an oiled bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let it rise until doubled in size, about 1 hour.
  6. Prep the Filling: While the dough rises, mix the diced apples with brown sugar and cinnamon.
  7. Shape the Dough: Punch down your risen dough and roll it out into a large rectangle.
  8. Add the Filling: Spread your apple mixture evenly over the dough and roll it tightly.
  9. Slice and Arrange: Cut the log into thick slices and stack them vertically into a greased bread pan.
  10. Second Rise: Cover the pan and let the dough rise again for about 30-40 minutes.
  11. Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  12. Bake: Bake for 30-35 minutes or until golden brown.
  13. Cool and Serve: Allow the bread to cool for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

For a sweeter twist, drizzle some icing or glaze over the cooled bread before serving.
