Fluffy Air Fryer Churro Bites

Delight in these warm, fluffy churro bites coated in sweet cinnamon sugar, made easily in an air fryer for a healthier twist on a classic treat.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 2 tablespoons butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup sugar (for coating)
  • 1 tablespoon cinnamon (for coating)
  • Oil for spraying

Instructions

  1. Prepare your dough: In a mixing bowl, combine the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt. Whisk together until well combined.
  2. Mix in the wet ingredients: In a separate bowl, combine the water, melted butter, and vanilla extract. Pour this mixture into your dry ingredients and gently fold until you have a thick dough.
  3. Shape the churro bites: Scoop out tablespoon-sized portions of dough and roll them into balls.
  4. Preheat and spray the air fryer: Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C) and lightly spray the basket with oil.
  5. Air fry the churro bites: Place the churro bites in the air fryer basket in a single layer and cook for about 8-10 minutes until golden brown, flipping halfway through.
  6. Prepare the sugar coating: While the churro bites are cooking, mix the 1/2 cup sugar with 1 tablespoon cinnamon.
  7. Coat your bites: Toss the warm churro bites in the cinnamon-sugar mixture immediately after removing them from the air fryer.
  8. Serve and enjoy: Let them cool slightly before serving warm, ideally with chocolate sauce for dipping.

Notes

For a fun twist, try adding flavored sugars or filling the churro bites with chocolate or nut butter. Enjoy with friends or family!
