Brown Butter Banana Bread

A delightful twist on classic banana bread, featuring the rich, nutty flavor of browned butter that elevates every slice into a gourmet treat.

  • ½ cup (1 stick) Unsalted Butter
  • 3 Overripe Bananas
  • ½ cup Granulated Sugar
  • ½ cup Brown Sugar
  • 2 Large Eggs
  • 1 teaspoon Pure Vanilla Extract
  • 1 ½ cups All-Purpose Flour
  • 1 teaspoon Baking Soda
  • Pinch of Salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan.
  2. Brown the butter by melting it in a small saucepan over medium heat until golden brown, about 5-7 minutes.
  3. Mash the overripe bananas in a mixing bowl until almost smooth.
  4. Add the brown butter (slightly cooled) to the mashed bananas, then add the granulated and brown sugars. Mix until combined.
  5. Incorporate the eggs one at a time, stirring well after each addition, then mix in the vanilla extract.
  6. Combine the dry ingredients in a separate bowl and gradually fold them into the wet mixture until no flour streaks remain.
  7. Bake the loaf in the preheated oven for 55-65 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  8. Cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

For a fun twist, consider adding nuts, chocolate chips, or coconut. Can be frozen for up to three months.
