Prosciutto and Melon Appetizer Skewers

A delightful appetizer featuring the sweet flavors of cantaloupe paired with savory prosciutto, fresh basil, and creamy mozzarella.

  • 1 cantaloupe (peeled, seeded, and cut into cubes)
  • 24 small fresh basil leaves (or 12 large, halved)
  • 24 mozzarella balls
  • 12 slices prosciutto (halved)
  • Balsamic glaze (for drizzling)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Cantaloupe: Slice your cantaloupe in half, remove the seeds, and peel the skin. Cube it into bite-sized pieces.
  2. Halve the Prosciutto: Take your prosciutto slices and halve them lengthwise.
  3. Assemble the Skewers: Start with a cube of cantaloupe, followed by a basil leaf, a mozzarella ball, and wrap everything with a half-slice of prosciutto. Repeat until the skewer is filled.
  4. Drizzle with Balsamic Glaze: Place the skewers on a platter and drizzle with balsamic glaze.
  5. Let Them Chill: If you have time, let the assembled skewers sit in the fridge for about 30 minutes.

Notes

These skewers can be made ahead of time. Store any leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge.
