Twisted Pumpkin Donuts

Delightful fusion of cozy flavors and fun textures, these soft, pillowy pumpkin donuts are perfect for autumn.

  • 1 cup pumpkin puree
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup melted butter
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp ground nutmeg
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tbsp milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tsp lemon juice

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Mix the dry ingredients in a large mixing bowl: flour, brown sugar, baking powder, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt until well combined.
  3. Combine the wet ingredients in a separate bowl: pumpkin puree, melted butter, egg, and vanilla extract. Mix well.
  4. Combine the dry and wet ingredients gently, stirring with a spatula until just combined.
  5. Fill a greased donut pan with the batter using a piping bag.
  6. Bake for about 10-12 minutes until the donuts spring back when touched.
  7. Prepare the glaze by whisking powdered sugar, milk, lemon juice, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  8. Glaze the cooled donuts by dipping the tops into the glaze.

Notes

For a sweeter glaze, add more powdered sugar until desired sweetness is reached. Feel free to experiment with spices and toppings!
