Delightful baked egg boats featuring eggs, cheese, and savory toppings nestled in a crusty baguette.

Ingredients

  • 2 Crusty Baguettes
  • 4 large Eggs
  • 1 cup shredded Cheese (cheddar, mozzarella, or Gruyère)
  • 1 cup Savory Toppings (e.g., sautéed spinach, bacon, herbs)
  • Salt to taste
  • Pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Prepare the baguettes by slicing them in half lengthwise and scooping out some of the insides.
  3. Whisk the eggs in a medium bowl until smooth, seasoning with salt and pepper.
  4. Mix in cheese and savory toppings until well combined.
  5. Fill the baguettes with the egg mixture, almost to the top.
  6. Bake in the oven for 20-25 minutes until set and golden brown.
  7. Garnish with fresh herbs if desired and serve warm.

Notes

Pre-toast the baguettes for a few minutes to prevent sogginess. These boats can be customized with various toppings!
