Amish Apple Crisp

A comforting dessert featuring tart apples topped with a buttery, crunchy oat mixture, perfect for autumn gatherings.

  • 4 tart apples (peeled)
  • 3/4 Cup old-fashioned oats
  • 3/4 Cup light brown sugar
  • 1/2 Cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 Cup salted butter (cold)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Peel and slice the apples.
  3. Toss the apples with cinnamon and half of the brown sugar (about 1/3 cup).
  4. In a separate mixing bowl, combine oats, flour, remaining 1/3 cup brown sugar, and cinnamon.
  5. Add cold, cubed butter to the oat mixture.
  6. Arrange the spiced apples in a greased 9×13 inch baking dish.
  7. Sprinkle the oat mixture over the apples.
  8. Bake for 30-35 minutes until golden brown and bubbly.

Notes

Serve warm with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream. Drizzling with caramel sauce is a delicious option!
